SOCCER SOCCER SOCCER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me entertain the boys for once!

It was a great weekend of Premiership Football coming from the break of the EURO qualifiers. This weekend was marked with mixed feelings and outcomes as the race to the Title getting stiffer and stiffer! Premiership Champions Manchester United failed to impress as they went down to Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok stadium. Nicholas Anelka’s 11th minute goal was enough to see off the visitors in a game i would describe as a poor display by the Red Devils! The loss leaves them behind the gunners by three points and still a game in Hand! Speaking about Arsenal, the on-form lads overcame a stubborn Wigan Athletic 2 – 0 with second half goals from William Gallas and Tomaz Rosicky in the 84th and 85th minute. The on-form lads kept up their late goal scoring routine and opened a three point lead at the top of the league with a game in hand.
Else where, Liverpool handed Newcastle United a 3 – 0 home humiliation courtesy of Gerrard, kuyt and Babel . The win kept the Redz at Fifth position behind Chelsea but still with a game in hand. Chelsea rocked Derby a 2 – 0 defeat which i can describe Chelsea as under performers!
Other results saw Portsmouth winning 2 – 0 at Birmingham City , Manchester City winning 2 -1 at home to Reading , Aston Villa winning 3 – 0 at Middlesbrough , Westham and Tottenham going for a 1 – 1 draw and Fulham managed a 2 – 2 draw at home to Blackburn Rovers.
The weekend Highlight came from Goodison Park where Everton gave Roy Kean’s Sunderland a 7 – 1 thromping. Yakubu and Cahill found the net twice and Pienaar, Johnson and Osman scored one each. Sunderland managed to pull one back through Dwight Yorke.
So the weekend ushers way for the mid week Champions League with the table looking as follows.
